The purpose of the session is to ensure that students can effectively comprehend the notion of capacity within legal discussions. 2	12.00 – 1.30 p.m	Process of trial (CRPC) and Evidence Act	This session will delve into the trial process as outlined in the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC) and the provisions of the Evidence Act. Participants will learn about the intricacies of gathering and presenting evidence in court, enhancing their understanding of legal proceedings in animal welfare cases It will also cover trial (examination of witnesses, presentation of defense evidence, and final argument etc.), and judgment of criminal cases related to animals, difference between cognizable and non-cognizable cases, chargesheet, summary trials, punishment and related concepts. 3		Filing a FIR	In this session, participants will learn how to effectively report instances of animal cruelty and navigate the process of filing a First Information Report (FIR). The session will explore offenses under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, including their nature as compoundable or noncompoundable, bailable or nonbailable, and cognizable or noncognizable and how it impacts filing an FIR in a police station.
