NALSAR, University of Law was established by an Act of the State Government of Andhra Pradesh in 1998. The Chief Justice of the High Court for the State of Telanganais the ex-officio Chancellor of the University. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission and the Bar Council of India. NALSAR has been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade (A++ as per new grading system) with 3.60 CGPA out of 4.00 which is the highest score among all the National Law Schools and other Law Colleges in the country.

No, only a candidate, who has completed a LL.B. degree by regular mode from a college / university recognized by Bar Council of India can practice law.

Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply for the 2-Year M.A.and the Advanced Diploma programmes. Candidates appearing for the final year examination of Graduation / Engineering are also eligible to apply. For Advanced Diploma programmes, even the Candidates who complete three years of their 5-Year Integrated Degree Programme are also eligible to apply or in any other UG-PG integrated course are also eligible to apply. The candidates are required to check the Admission Notification and / or the Programme page on the website for further details

The courses offered by Directorate of Distance Education, NALSAR are generally opted by the candidates interested in enhancing their subject knowledge and expertise in a particular area of law. The programmes will help in careers of teaching, internet world, print and electronic media, Intellectual Property management, aviation industry, Consultancy, Non-Governmental organization and also in career promotion within the organization.

DDE-NALSAR only provides guidance on request to students who are looking for employment opportunities upon completing the course. Please note that NALSAR does not provide campus placements for the students who are undergoing these courses. It only provides the information of candidates when approached by the organizations

Candidates cannot be admitted for more than one programmeat Directorate of Distance Education, NALSAR as the contact classes and examinations may be conducted simultaneously for all the courses.

The Personal Contact Programmes and examinations are being held only at Hyderabad.

As a policy the University does not permit payment of fee in installments. In few deserving cases of financial difficulties, request may be made to the Director, DDE and such requests will be considered on case-to case basis and the University reserves the right to decide on them.

Attendance at the PCP is compulsory for the M.A. Programmesand the candidate should have atleast 75% attendance in the PCP to appear for the end semester examination. Attendance at the PCP is not compulsory in case of Advanced Diploma Programmes, but candidates are advised to attend the classes as the same are important to understand the subject and successfully complete the course. The candidates may be given an option to attend the Personal Contact Programme (Classes) either physically or online. The recorded videos of the classes will also be uploaded on the website. The University will intimate the exact dates of the classes and the examinations from time to time to the candidates by e-mail in advance.

Accommodation can be arranged at NALSAR Campus for the candidates on payment basis. As the University has limited accommodation facility, the rooms will be allotted on first cum first served basis.

Candidates can visit NALSAR Library for reference books; books will not be issued to them. They are required to carry their Identity Cards issued by the University, each time they visit our Library.

To continue the admission beyond the minimum duration, the candidate has to pay the prescribed Continuation Fee every year for the subsequent academic year(s) or till all the requirements are completed, whichever is earlier. If any candidate fails to pay the Continuation Fee as per the schedule, her/his admission will not be continued till the maximum period. The admission cannot be continued beyond the maximum period under any circumstances.

Attendance at the PCP is compulsory for the M.A. Programmesand the candidate should have atleast 75% attendance in the PCP to appear for the end semester examination.There is no such requirement in case of Advanced Diploma Programmes. Candidate interested in writing the examination, must submit the online examination form by the date notified from time to time. Candidates can choose to write all or some of the papers during the Term End (Annual / End Semester) / Repeat / Supplementary Examination. The prescribed examination fee shall be paid by the candidates, if they opt to appear in the repeat / supplementary examinations.

The candidates desiring of re-evaluation have to apply in writing along with the re-evaluation fee within 15 days from the date of declaration of results. On the receipt of the request for re-evaluation, the paper would be sent to subject expert other than the evaluator and the results of the same will be communicated within 45 days. A change in the original score shall be made only when, upon re-evaluation, the change is of FIVE marks or more. TheRe-evaluation result would be final and there would be no further appeal. No candidate who has cleared the subject by securing 50 marks or above is allowed to re-appear in the examination or apply for re-evaluation for improving marks / grade. The recounting of the paper would be done without collecting any fee but on the written request to the Director, DDE by the candidate. The change, if any, shall be incorporated accordingly.

In view of the National Education Policy, 2020, a provision has been made for Lateral Admission in the Second Year MA Programme offered in the relevant specialisation for the candidates enrolled for the One Year Advanced Diploma in Aviation Law & Air Transport Management. ‘EXIT’ option is available for the candidates enrolled for M.A. (Aviation Law & Air Transport Management). If a candidate opts to EXIT after completion of the FIRST YEAR, she / he will be awarded Advanced Diploma Certificate in the said specialisation.
